When it comes to purchasing hemp oil for sale, you want to choose a high-quality oil that is as effective as possible to support your well-being. But how can consumers tell which methods are the best? While some companies manufacture their products by creating isolates using harsh chemicals, we do it very differently at Functional Remedies. We focus on the most effective and natural delivery method to maximize the hemp plant’s health benefits.
And how do we do that? It’s a process known as “True Entourage EffectTM.”
Discovered from Decades of Research
When Functional Remedies embarked on the production of hemp oils four years ago, they turned to Tim Gordon, an expert in the cannabis industry who is now the company’s president. Gordon spent years growing the plant, running a legal medical marijuana dispensary, studying the genomes of cannabis and working on the legislative and policy level in an effort to provide well-being for those in need.
Featured in Newsweek, at the Northern Colorado Hemp Expo, and on just about every cannabis-related website, Tim is about as passionate of a grower as it comes. He’s studied cannabis down to its DNA to come up with an answer to how to tap into the healing qualities of this plant.
“At Functional Remedies, we do things completely differently, and it comes from my many years of researching this plant,” he said. “I studied the entourage effect in the plant and the synergistic effects on us, and what processes are the best. Over the years of trial and error, I think I’ve found the best one. We have the most highly effective cannabinoid products in the country.”
Supporting the Body’s Natural Systems
Hemp oil works with the body because of a full spectrum of phytocannabinoids, a plant-based version of natural elements within the body called cannabinoids. These cannabinoids work within the endocannabinoid system, a recently discovered system of the human body that regulates the endocrine system. This complex internal process is responsible for a variety of functions of the brain like pain management, digestion, your body’s ability to respond to stress and general energy and emotional homeostasis. When the body undergoes stress, the endocannabinoid system benefits from external support from an all-natural supplement.
Working Together Better
There are more than a hundred cannabinoids found naturally in the hemp plant. Instead of simply focusing on one beneficial element of the plant, Functional Remedies uses a whole-plant processing method to also include terpenes, chlorophyll and other nutritional elements that work together to improve the effectiveness of the product. This is what is known as “TrueEntourage EffectTM.”
Kai Metcalfe, Functional Remedies’ production lab director, explains it.
“The idea is the sum of the parts is greater than the whole. When you get a single isolated compound, the range of efficacy is pretty narrow,” she said. “You have to have a high-level dose, but then if you surpass that you do not get constant improvement. And some trials showed that increasing the serving size of the isolated compound did not increase its efficacy for very long. With a whole plant, there is a much greater chance of increasing the efficacy when you increase the serving size.”
A Totally Different Process
In order to take advantage of “True Entourage EffectTM,” the team at Functional Remedies starts with growing hemp plants cloned from patented seeds that have superior genetics to allow for the maximum levels of beneficial nutrients with 0.3 percent or less of THC (so there are no psychotropic “highs”). From the farm in Colorado, the plants’ flowers, leaves, and stem material is transferred to the company’s laboratory three hours away, where it is soaked in coconut or MCT oil in a gentle lipid infusion process. Technicians oversee the process, testing regularly to ensure consistency among batches so users can expect the results they seek from the tinctures, capsules or salve.
